What’s solarpunk?

There are many answers, but in brief: solarpunk is the optimistic mirror-image of cyberpunk. It rejects dystopian futures like ‘Bladerunner’ and ‘Dune’, and instead seeks to imagine what we COULD build: a world where civilization, advanced tech, and nature live in balance.

Andrew Sage of the YouTube channel ‘Andrewism’ has one of the better breakdowns currently online. He breaks down, among other things, the ‘punk’ in solarpunk, which recognizes that capitalism is an obstacle on the path to a post-scarcity society where everyone has their needs met, no matter what.
